We know youth have different activity and energy levels, and may want to take breaks. We have logic puzzle games, chess, checkers, backgammon, and board games, to occupy minds and hands when campers want to sit out a round. Campers are encouraged to bring a book, but please leave electronic games at home.
Wear comfortable work out clothes including LONG PANTS preferably with pockets if possible. This is to hold body cords when not attached to the reel. (This can be a hard ask for girls athletic pants and many sweats, so not critical.) Wear layers - it’s SF! Hair ties and headbands are a MUST for long hair and/ or bangs. Many boys have longer bangs, and it helps to have a sweatband type headband to keep hair out of eyes under the fencing mask.
Bring a water bottle. Bring a lunch AND snacks. We expend a lot of energy and need to replenish. For older students, there are several cafes and restaurants right in the neighborhood where one can purchase food. Bring a hat or sunscreen for when we go outside. We do have all natural “reef safe” sunscreen at the club as well.
